Thank you for doing this summary Samatha and making the main points of Nate Hagens conversation with Oliver Hamant accessible. It was a brilliant conversation challenging my thinking about resilience and being curious about robustness.

Seeing how you have captured the background , main points and ways forward are so helpful 🙏🏻

yes, I am going to dance more but I don’t think I will ever like jazz !

Love it! Thank you Samantha for summarising this conversation (and the body of work). I will definitely listen to this one. I am already translating the concepts into the world of western psychology and my discipline of organisational psychology. It's pretty neat that a biologist and biophysicist is thinking this way.

Love this. It would translate that the effective principles in psychology are actually, biologically derived, from the more general biological and ecological frameworks he's speaking from. Humans are organism's after all. All of my work is, in some ways, based on a hypothesis that if we organize our psychology, education, medicine, stories and systems in greater alignment with nature, we will be both healthier and happier - and more adaptive as a species within the Earth's limits.

Absolutely. I'm with you! (I've read your beautiful book: True Human....amazing....)

I will keep ploughing a new furrow for western psychology....

Thank you for this. I saw this particular episode of the Great Simplification recently and it completely altered my perspective on my place - and agency - within the tangled web of life. I plan to introduce the concept of robustness to my architecture students, and your summary will prove invaluable.

Fantastic! I'm imagining the spaces/places/structures that will originate from this kind of adaptive co-sensing!

Hi Samantha, I am only beginning to read this piece and encountering your writings. I was drawn in my the stunning art. As an artist, photographer, writer and tender of earth arts, I am a huge fan of honouring lineage, research, the trail one travels, the interconnectedness of all beings. In short, I think gratitude and reciprocity are important and on that note making our artists, those that carry one of the sabres forms of creative co creation with Gaia, is very important.

The extent to which digital tools, photoshop, Canva, ai are used is also, I believe important. So folks can decide where they out their energy and attention.

I’d love to know who the artist(S) are. 🙏🏽
